横着走 In Chinese to be able to walk sideways mean someone who is able to do anything and everything without limitation. i.e. Not following the law

兄弟如手足,妻子如衣服 This ancient proverb was recorded in Romance of Three Kingdoms. When Zhang Fei failed to protect Liu Bei’s wives and children, Zhang Fei wanted to end his life to atone for it. Liu Bei then quotes this proverb to Zhang Fei, to tell him that he was forgiven and he(Zhang Fei) was a brother as important as his(Liu Bei) arms and legs. Furthermore, he believed that even though his wives and children were captured by Lu Bu, Lu Bu will not harm them.
