Chapter 1, Part 3: Reborn

The fourteen-year-old girl, was like the most precious Luoyang Brocade in Ling Residence’s peony garden. Her beauty was so pure and breathtaking.

The fact that she was reborn again back to her past self was very unbelievable.

However, this absurd thing indeed happened.

Ling Jing Shu looked at the familiar yet unfamiliar self, her mind was flashed with the pale and skinny face from ten years later. Her eyes were dull, her heart was so numbed. She felt that it was better be dead than alive.

Thinking of the past, Ling Jing Shu’s heart felt like it was poked by many thin needles, and the sharp pain spread very quickly.

Her alluring beauty only brought her unbearable humiliations. She rather be born in ordinary people’s home, with normal looks, living her life peacefully.

Ling Jing Shu stared at the bronze mirror and had not spoken for a long time.

Bai Yu thought that Ling Jing Shu was disgusted by her own pale face so she smiled and said, “Miss had lied on the bed for two days and it was inevitable for you to look pale. After you recover from your illness and change into fresh colour clothings, you will definitely look more pretty than before.”

Ling Residence’s Feng Shui was good, specialise in producing beauties. From first family to fifth family, this generation had a total of eleven girls. A few had died, and only six had successfully grown up.

Ling Jing Shu was ranked number nine, and out of all her cousins, she was the most outstanding and beautiful one. Since the age of ten, she had been very famous in Ding Province.

Ling Jing Shu closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She reopened her eyes, and her eyes returned to being calm and clear, “Bai Yu, I am hungry. I want to eat the chicken noodle soup that you make yourself.”

Bai Yu was very happy and immediately smiled, “Alright, maid servant will go to the kitchen to cook now.”

Bai Yu’s cooking was excellent, and her action was very fast, it took her less than one joss stick’s time and she was already holding onto a bowl of hot chicken noodle soup.

The noodle was chewy, the chicken soup was thick and fragrance, the green leaves were added in as well, making people feel like eat the food immediately.

Ling Jing Shu smelled the familiar aroma, her nose became slightly sour. She picked up the chopsticks, gently picked up some of the food and put it into her mouth to slowly eat.

Ling Residence’s daughters were educated very meticulously. They not only hired female teachers to teach them about chess and calligraphy, they even hired Liu momo, who had retired from the palace to come and teach them about rules.

Liu momo had quick temper, sitting, standing, laughing and talking, all have rules. The misses in Ling Residence had suffered a lot. Ling Jing Shu was no exception. However, the past few years of teaching had yield results.

Even if she was very hungry, she did not rush to eat quickly. Her eating manner look very good and feminine.

Ling Xiao’s eyes were blind but his ears were very sensitive. He heard some slight movement and he can’t help but said, “Ah Shu, you have not eaten for the past two days, your stomach must be very hungry. Don’t worry about those rules, just let go and eat to your heart content.”

Bai Yu also added, “What the young master said was right. There is no other people here, miss do not need to worry too much.”

Ling Jing Shu’s heart felt warm and her lips raised slightly, “Alright, I will listen to you both.”

After a bowl of hot chicken noodle soup was finished, her cold hands and feet warmed up, and her whole body also had more strength.

“The Old Madam had also sent people to ask how the miss was doing. Since miss has wake up, miss should go greet the Old Madam.” Bai Yu said with a smile, “Maid servant will help miss to dress up now.”

Ling Jing Shu agree to her suggestion, lower her head slight to cover up for the coldness in her eyes.

Men and women were different. Although Ling Xiao was her twin brother and he was blind, they had to avoid rumors. He took the initiative to get up and said, “Ah Shu, I will wait for you outside.”

Thank you for translating this! It’s an excellent first chapter. I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of her family, especially this Old Madame (I get the feeling she’s at least a little bit shady).
