Anti-Cheater Strategies - Chapter 14
A new chapter after a long long hiatus ?
Note: Any future updates for this title will be updated here on Foxaholics instead of my old blog!
Shu ChunChun had already fallen in a coma when the doctor arrived.
After a careful and thorough inspection, he shook his head and sighed, “Her condition is much more serious than I had expected. I’m fairly uncertain that at this point, can she even be cured at all. All we could do now is to take extreme care of her… Other than that, there’s nothing I can do.”
“But, with her current physical condition, if she’s still not eating, I’m afraid……”
The doctor did not finish his sentence, but the meaning behind his words were so obvious that even an idiot could understand.
If Shu ChunChun continue like this, there was no need to continue treating her illness anymore.
Chen Liang pupils narrowed instantly as soon as he grasps the doctor’s words, with his hands clenched into fists, he stared straight at the woman on the bed without saying a word.
Pity flashed through the doctor’s eyes before he turned towards Chen Liang, “Young Master Chen, at this rate, if you do not want her to die, it would be best to not let her suffer any stimulations, at all. At her current state, she cannot endure even a little bit of stress.”
Chen Liang’s expressions darkened slightly, before he shut his eyes in resignation, “I understand.” He answered slowly, his voice somewhat hoarse.
After sending doctor, Chen Liang stood before her bedside for god knows how long, only reaching out for a stool after a long while.
He reached out his hand towards her face, allowing his slender fingers to trail across her delicate brows, slowly sliding across her face and caressing her sickly pale cheeks, before finally reaching her tightly shut and chapped lips…
Seeing her once lustrous and full cheeks reduced to such a sunken state… Chen Liang retracted his fingers from her face before clenching them tightly into a fist once more, to the point that green veins could be seen through the back of his hand!
He slammed his fist heavily against the wall, his fist was instantly swollen and red streaks of blood could be seen from several parts of his fist.
But he could not feel any pain, in fact, it was almost as if this was the only way to relieve the pain within his heart.
“It’s my fault, I knew you could not handle another stressful trigger……” His eyes were slightly sore, but he shut them quickly as he grinded his teeth in frustration.
Suddenly, there was a soft touch on the back of his injured hand.
Chen Liang’s heart skipped as he opened his eyes immediately, only to see that Shu ChunChun was awake and staring blankly at his injured hand while her weak and shaking hand was still gently covering his wounded hand.
Chen Liang could not believe it, this was the first time she had reacted to him!
“Teacher……” He called out to her softly and tendering, his voice shaking with happiness and sadness at the same time.
Shu ChunChun’s body was slightly shaking at his voice, and she tried to retract her hand unsteadily, but Chen Liang instantly grabbed her hand gently as he tried his best to prevent her hand from leaving.
He was almost ecstatic!
He held his breath as he tried his hardest to suppress his excitement, “Are you concerned for me, teacher, you still care about me, right?” He asked ever so softly, so afraid that he would unintentionally trigger her once more.
But apart from the initial movements, there was no longer any reaction from her. Her eyes were still dull and empty while Chen Liang held her hand tightly.
And it was as if that tiny movement had exhausted all of her strength, she closed her eyes as she fell into another deep slumber. The big fish had taken the bait, but still, she would not tug it with all of her strength, she would continue to bait it slowly, appropriately playing the illusion of a calm appearance, just so that when she finally reeled him in, the impact would be a storm!
Chen Liang’s expressions froze as he watched her fall into another deep slumber.
[Beep! Target Shu ChunChun’s affections had always been zero, statistics showed that the host’s current method does not seem to work.]
But not only did the sudden mechanical voice of his system did not take his focus away from the sleeping woman, his eyes lit up brightly, as if he suddenly remembered something important.
[System, are there any purchasable products in the Shop for this sort of situations?]
[Beep! According to recorded data, this kind of mental breakdown cannot be repaired with items as it can be understood as a form of data collapse. Generally speaking, a data collapse of a protagonist will have a devastating impact on the world itself, so if this happened, the higher authorities will dispatch professional personnel to replace the collapsed protagonist’s role in order to guide the world back on its original plot.]
[Replacing the collapsed protagonist’s role? Are you saying that… She would cease to exist?]
[Beep! There is such a possibility.]
Chen Liang’s face darkened visibly at the system’s answer.
[Is there any way we can improve her situation? You know, if something happens to the heroine, my mission would be a complete failure.]
[Beep! We cannot fully repair the protagonist’s state of mind, but we can resort to maintaining her physical health with Energy Pills. One pill is enough to return the strength to her body, while two pills will invigorate and beautify her current malnourished state. The price for one pill is 299 points, but due to the current Christmas discount, you can buy a bottle for a discounted price of 1,999 points.]
As long as it involves the consumption of the host’s points, the system will immediately incarnate into a professional salesman.
Chen Liang sighed in relief at his system’s reply.
[Proceed to purchase a bottle then, no matter what, we need to resolve her physical health first, as for her mental health…]
His gaze landed on Shu ChunChun’s sleeping face, before raising his hand towards her head and stroking her long hair gently.
[Beep! Successfully deducted 1,999 points.
Purchase was succesful.
Friendly reminder, the host has less than 5,000 points remaining, and upon reaching a negative value, the host will be expelled into the darkness.]
As soon as the system’s voice died down, a small glass bottle containing blue pills appeared in Chen Liang’s hand. He hurriedly poured one out onto his palm before feeding it to the asleep Shu ChunChun.
In just a few seconds, a healthy shade began to show on her previously sunken and pale cheeks.
Chen Liang’s expressions softened as he watched the colors returning to her face.
Recently, Chen Liang had been able to somewhat relax himself due to the Energy Pills, as he no longer need to worry about Shu ChunChun not eating.
And although her gaze was still sluggish, her complexion had, in fact, improved a lot. Even the dense needle-holes on the back of her hands disappeared, and her skin had been restored back to their previous milky softness.
Furthermore, as if Chen Liang’s bleeding hand had lifted a shield from her heart, she was no longer so repulsive towards his approach, though she was still ignoring him, but at least the two can finally hang around each other peacefully.
Chen Liang strongly believed that this was an amazingly huge improvement, to the point that he even took the time to carry Shu ChunChun towards a wicker chair in the garden to enjoy the warm sun.
Her fingernails were growing too long, and it was as if a nerve had went wrong within Chen Liang’s brain, that he personally took extreme care to trim her nails perfectly.
Chen Liang would trim her nails a bit, and raise his gaze towards to face, while Shu ChunChun had lowered her eyes to stare blankly at his work.
The warm and gentle sun casted a shadow upon her porcelain-white skin, and for once, she looked well-behaved an obedient.
Chen Liang suddenly felt as if his heart was filled with an inexplicable emotion at the sight of her.
It was the simple and small things, that even though no one spoke a word, he felt as if he was feeling a sense of peace and comfort that he had forgotten for many many years.
Although deep inside, he knew that knowing her personality, if a kitten or a puppy was injured right in front of her, she would definitely feel distressed and take care of it for a long while.
That was just the kind of girl she was.
Suddenly, a self-depreciating chuckle escaped his lips. He knew that if she ever regain conscious one day, there was no way she would treat him even if he was fatally injured.
And he deserved it.
