- Becoming a Movie Queen After Transmigrating as the Villain's Cat
- Chapter 19 - The Luo Family Mansion is So Big
After meeting Yan Yafei in their suburb, Lin Sifei changed her previous lazy behavior. Every day after she got home, she laid on the windowsill and peeked at the villa diagonally opposite to them.
Although she had been watching for a few days, she had never seen Yan Yafei again.
Lin Sifei bit off a chunk of a dried fish snack and fell into deep thought. According to the characterization of the original text, the heroine was pure and lovely, so she definitely would not enter her Brother Yuan’s house every day. She was probably just a guest last time.
When she reached this conclusion, Lin Sifei nodded in self-approval.
“Xiaoxiao, I’ve been watching you for a long time, but you’re still looking at the Yuan house across from us.”
Lin Sifei, upon hearing Luo Ke’s gloomy tone, jumped a little in shock. Thinking quickly, she bit off a piece of dried fish, and stuffed it into her hand
“Meow~” For you to eat.
Luo Ke’s face brightened a bit, she touched Lin Sifei’s nose and stuffed the dried fish back into her mouth, “It’s better for you to eat it since your saliva is all over it.”
Lin Sifei rolled her eyes and continued gnawing on the piece of dried fish.
Luo Ke smiled, but then out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Yuan Mo come out of his house not far away. She raised her brow slightly when she saw the ragdoll cat 1in his arms.
She then glanced at the little silly cat next to her, then at the ragdoll cat, touching her chin.
Luo Ke was still looking at her cat when her phone on the table rang. When she saw the caller on the top of the screen, she took a deep breath before picking up, “Grandma.”
“Xiao Ke, are you coming to see Grandma this weekend? We as a family have not got together in a long time. Grandma and your uncles and aunts miss you very much.”
Luo Ke pulled out a chair to sit on,”I should be free this weekend, so I will come”
She paused, but then continued, “By the way, grandma, I got a cat. I can take her back with me this weekend and show you.”
“Sure, I’m usually bored here, so having a pet will be a better change.”
As Lin Sifei lay beside Luo Ke, she was able to listen to the conversation on the phone, and her eyes lit up. Luo Ke’s grandma finally appeared! As a character, Lin Sifei remembered that this one was both smart and stupid, too much of both for her own good.
She glanced at Luo Ke’s expression, observing her obviously softened expression, and sighed in her heart.
It seemed that Luo Ke liked her grandma very much. What could she do to change that? How could she make Luo Ke believe that all of her relatives in the Luo family were quite villainous?
Lin Sifei frowned. Apart from the issue of trust, she still didn’t know what the Luo family would do. As the original book was developed from the perspective of the heroine, only a part of the Luo family feud was written, so Lin Sifei did not have sufficient information.
In a daze, Luo Ke reached out and hugged her, “Xiaoxiao, we’re going to go to see grandma on the weekend, are you excited for that?”
Lin Sifei looked at the floor blankly with a pair of dead-fish like eyes.
Early in the morning on the weekend, when Lin Sifei was still asleep, a burst of light suddenly landed in front of her eyes. She meowed, dissatisfied, and turned her back to the window and whoever opened the curtain.
“Get up, little lazy cat.” Luo Ke knelt on the bed on one knee, poking Lin Sifei’s face.
“Meow!” Lin Sifei opened her eyes angrily, and met her smiling eyes.
So pretty. Lin Sifei licked the corners of her mouth, as her temper immediately vanished, got up and stretched.
When Luo Ke saw her cat had woken up, she smiled and went to wash up.
When Lin Sifei jumped out of bed, she saw the skirt on the hanger and was reminded that today was the day they were going to Luo Ke’s grandma’s house. Annoyed, she pawed at the skirt.
She must be happy if she deliberately swapped out her usual professional attire. Lin Sifei supported her chin on her paws and sighed, concerned.
As Lin Sifei was hiding something in her heart, she had on quite the grumpy face during the car ride, as if someone had owed her quite a sum of money.
Luo Ke drove across the entire city, and then entered a forest. Lin Sifei leaned on the car window, looking at the scenery and fence coming into view in the woods, mouth slightly open.
My dear, this Luo family is so extravagant, their mansion is sooooooo big!
Two security guards in uniform stood at the gate of the villa. Seeing her car, they stepped forward and opened the gate.
Luo Ke drove for a few minutes more before reaching the main villa.
Lin Sifei looked around in shock. When Luo Ke took her out, she couldn’t help reaching out to touch the fountain next to him.
This sculpture was also top class. Which master was invited to finish this masterpiece?
She played a character that was a sculptor when she starred in movies in her previous life. At that time, she followed art exhibitions and asked many masters of the craft to learn and prepare for her role. Although she only got a handful of actual skills, her ability to appreciate art increased rapidly.
Luo Ke, seeing her obsessive look, shook her head exasperatedly, and squeezed the paw that was touching the water in the fountain, “Okay, enough with the water, stop making trouble.”
Lin Sifei couldn’t hold back her eyeroll again. Who wanted to play with water, you superficial millionaire, huh!
While Luo Ke gathered Lin Sifei up in her arms and walked into the main house, Lin Sifei considered how she would act. In the end, she decided to maintain the cute cat image, so she adjusted her facial expressions, and became more obedient and cute.
As soon as she entered the door, she saw Luo Shengping in front of her. The corner of her mouth twitched, and her claws couldn’t help but pop out.
When Luo Shengping saw her claws, his face felt a ghost of phantom pain. He couldn’t help covering his face and pointing at Luo Ke, “Hey, keep your cat in control, don’t let it get crazy and scratch people again.”
“She won’t scratch people casually.” Luo Ke glanced at him and bowed, “Second Uncle.”
Luo Shengping’s face looked much better, “Don’t be polite, we’re family, come in.”
Luo Ke nodded, walked in behind him, and bowed to everyone in the living room.
Lin Sifei couldn’t help holding her arm and rubbing her face on it, distressed. What kind of broken family would make Luo Ke bow to them one by one? Are you even worthy, scum?
When Luo Ke finished bowing, she felt the mass in her arms shiver, and when she lowered her head, she saw Xiaoxiao clutching her arms, fur spiked up like an explosion had happened.
She smiled and touched her comfortingly, “Don’t be afraid, it’s alright.”
“So this is Xiao Ke’s cat, it looks so fierce.” A woman with perm and curly hair shook her head with distaste. “No wonder I scratched my little brother’s face.”
As soon as she finished her voice, the man reading the newspaper next to him looked up and nodded in agreement, “There are a lot of cats and dogs that no one knows are sick, maybe even having rabies. If it’s too fierce, it’s better to not raise it.”
Lin Sifei, angry upon hearing these words, wanted to jump up and give them a taste of their own medicine.
Luo Ke held her back and lowered her head slightly, “Xiaoxiao is very good. Last time, the second uncle accidentally dropped a glass, which frightened Xiaoxiao and thus she had some retaliatory reactions.”
“But it shouldn’t scratch people either.” The curly-haired woman wanted to continue, but a cough interrupted her.
When Luo Ke heard the sound, she immediately turned around and bowed again, “Grandma.”
Lin Sifei gritted her teeth and looked over. She thought she would see an old woman with white hair and walking on crutches. She didn’t expect this seemingly young woman in front of her. Her hair was all dyed black, permed with big waves in the back and short curly hair in the front. Her earrings and necklaces are all made of large shiny pearls, and her dress was an aquamarine qipao2, very pleasing to the eye.
Four words flashed in Lin Sifei’s mind- Jewelry extravaganza all over. 3
It made sense though. After all, this old lady pretended to be a good grandmother for more than 20 years, and then she wanted to take over the entire Luo family business for herself later.
The old lady stepped forward to hug Luo Ke and patted her on the back, “Good girl.”
She turned her head to look at the woman who was speaking, “Bihua, don’t talk of Xiao Ke in that way. Xiao Ke is also an adult now. Even if she knows that you are worried about her, no one feels comfortable being lectured all the time. “
Luo Ke gently shook her head, “I know my aunt cares about me too, so I would not blame her.”
Luo Bihua laughed when she heard the words, and sat down on the sofa with her, “I know that Xiao Ke is the most obedient. By the way, Aunt went to Paris this time and bought you a gift. I’ll give it to you.”
Lin Sifei watched her walk upstairs, secretly thinking how this old lady can talk. Obviously, it was the aunt that was wrong, but she insisted that her words were out of concern. So now, we can’t blame her, otherwise we would be lectured for not knowing people’s kindness. Haha, how wonderful.
Meeting annoying relatives again, let’s wish Luo Ke and Lin Sifei good luck! PS- I’m working on a names glossary and going over my previous chapters again since I’ve been reflecting on my translation quality the past few days and I feel like it can be better. Feel free to leave any recommendations as well, and thank you to all that wished me luck! Hopefully the hotel has good wifi and stuff so that I can still update! <3
