Beloved Marriage in High Society - Chapter 67.2
“Nothing…” Yan Sui wasn’t planning to tell him. He turned his head to look at Meng Ting. Although Meng Ting was trying hard to stay awake, he had spent his day in the laboratory today and followed Yan Sui to Nanshan. Even if he wanted to hide his sleepiness, that still didn’t stop it from attacking Meng Ting.
“I’ll send a car here to pick you two up tomorrow. We’ll talk again tomorrow.”
Yan Yu was impatient with how Yan Sui didn’t address everything in one go. But before he could say anything, He Yue held his hands, and Yan Yu shut up.
He Yue nodded at Yan Sui, “Sure, be careful on the way back.”
Yan Sui stood up, and Meng Ting stood up with him. Although he was sleepy, he wasn’t bewildered. He looked at Yan Yu and He Yue and said to them in a very serious tone, “Good night, Papa Yan. Good night, Papa He.”
Yan Sui held Meng Ting’s hand, and they left. Though the door had closed a long time ago, neither Yan Yu nor He Yue spoke. They each needed some time to clear their minds.
After a while, He Yue held Yan Yu’s hand again, “Let’s go to sleep. I’m sleepy, and we’ll think about it tomorrow.”
Yan Yu’s mind was full of different thoughts, but he could only do what He Yue said. He lifted He Yue from the sofa and then said in a solemn tone, “You can definitely stand up again.”
He Yue didn’t answer. He just stretched out his hand to embrace Yan Yu’s neck as if he was relieved or sighing.
Before the accident, his physical fitness had always been outstanding. He chased after cats and dogs, climbed trees and fished, and was very active ever since he was a child. The day he bonded with Yan Yu in university was a group mountain climbing activity during their freshman summer vacation. The two ran in the front so fast that they almost lost contact with the group.
He Yue once said that his greatest wish was to climb all the mountains worldwide and watch the sunsets and sunrises on them. Yan Yu also promised him that he would accompany him wherever he went.
But He Yue was only twenty-three years old when he lost his healthy legs. Not to mention hiking. He couldn’t even walk one step after that.
He Yue was very calm now, but he wasn’t like that back then. In the first few years, he tortured both Yan Yu and himself. He even tried suicide but couldn’t do it in the end. Yan Yu almost lost him once, and he couldn’t let He Yue experience that kind of pain again.
He began to read books, grow flowers, and do everything to calm his mind, but his depression still tortured him and Yan Yu for ten years. They traveled around, sought famous doctors, and were full of hope again and again, yet disappointed again and again.
This time he didn’t know if it was the beginning of another disappointment.
“Don’t be afraid. Even if I can’t be cured, we can still be the same as right now. I don’t want to die anymore.”
When Yan Yu put He Yue on the bed, He Yue said in his ear.
Life was not easy. He should cherish Yan Yu more. Yan Yu wasn’t concerned at Yan Sui’s words, but He Yue was obviously worried about it. He couldn’t let go of him, and it always had been.
“Yeah.” Yan Yu responded, but his heart was far from being as calm as he showed on his face. He sat on the side of the bed and waited for He Yue to fall asleep before heading to the balcony. It’s unclear what’s on his mind, but he smoked cigarettes one after another. When the sky turned brighter, only then did he go to the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth.
Then he came out to pack up things for him and He Yue. The car sent by Yan Sui was waiting downstairs at around five o’clock.
He Yue woke up early. He got up when Yan Yu was packing up his things. He looked at Yan Yu’s proficient movements and lost in his thoughts.
Yan Yu looked over, and He Yue suddenly smiled, “Come here.”
Yan Yu didn’t know why He Yue was asking him to come closer, but he had always listened to He Yue’s words very much. So he came over and was pulled down by He Yue.
He kissed Yan Yu’s lips, frowning slightly, “You’re smoking again?”
“Yes.” Yan Yu paused for a long time before replying. He even went to brush his teeth intentionally.
He Yue continued to frown, then was carried by Yan Yu to the bathroom after draping on a coat. After washing, he called the phone number given by Yan Sui and asked Zhao Bing to come up and help carry their luggage and the wheelchair. He continued to take He Yue downstairs.
They left their residence early, so they soon arrived at Yan’s residence at half-past seven. The car didn’t stop at the gate but drove inside until they reached the front door to the living room.
Yan Sui didn’t tell anyone that Yan Yu and He Yue were coming home, including Nanny Wang and Uncle Xiao. When they saw Yan Yu carrying He Yue out of the car, the two instantly burst into tears. Their mouths opened and closed, but they couldn’t say anything.
Yan Manjia and Zhen Han came down from upstairs. Zhen Han was relatively calm as he knew more than Yan Manjia.
But Yan Manjia wasn’t calm at all. Her legs were so weak that she couldn’t walk, and she sat on the stairs and burst into tears.
Yan Yu, who was carrying He Yue, stopped in his tracks and looked at Yan Manjia for a while before continuing to walk with He Yue in his arms. Yan Sui and Meng Ting also got up from the sofa. Yan Sui then walked up and led Yan Yu towards a room to the side of the stairs on the first floor.
He deliberately asked Nanny Wang to clean the room last night. The room was spacious and bright, but the most important thing was that it was on the first floor, making it easy for He Yue’s wheelchair to get in and out. As for Yan Yu’s original room, he probably wouldn’t want to live in it anymore.
Meng Ting didn’t follow Yan Sui. Instead, he went upstairs to comfort Yan Manjia.
“It’s a good thing that they are coming back. Aunt, don’t cry.”
When Meng Ting saw that Yan Manjia was still crying, he leaned over and gently patted her head. He couldn’t relate to Yan Manjia’s emotions, but he could tell that she cried tears of joy.
Yan Manjia nodded. She didn’t continue crying on the stairs and instead went back to her room to continue crying. She probably wouldn’t get out of her room for a long time.
“Don’t worry, she will be fine after crying.” Zhen Han wasn’t worried about Yan Manjia very much. All of her emotions had been hidden inside of her for so many years, it would be best for her to cry out.
Meng Ting nodded and came downstairs. Nanny Wang and Uncle Xiao finally composed their emotions and started to make arrangements. Many of the maids in the mansion were sent away a while ago. Those that remained in the house were all loyal and caused no trouble, so a few instructions to them would be just fine.
Yan Yu and He Yue hadn’t eaten breakfast yet. After eating, Yan Yu and Yan Sui went to the study, while He Yue stayed in the living room to watch television with Meng Ting. Zhen Han’s clinic opened yesterday, so he couldn’t stay back as there were many appointments today. Therefore, he left as soon as he finished breakfast.
“Your name is Meng Ting, right?”
“Yes.” Meng Ting nodded, pushing the fruits and refreshments towards He Yue.
“Don’t worry. Since you and papa are coming home, Yan Sui and I will protect you two.”
He Wan was banned from entering Yan’s residence. Even if she broke in, he and Yan Sui would stop her, so she wouldn’t hurt He Yue again.
He Yue smiled when he heard that. He didn’t have a lot of feelings towards Yan Sui. He and Yan Yu always subconsciously avoided the topic of Yan Sui, while Meng Ting truly enjoyed talking about him.
Meng Ting nodded slightly, and he looked up at the stairs, “They probably have to talk for a long time. If you’re bored, I can also push you to go for a walk. The front is the grass field, while the garden is at the back. You can also see them in your room.”
He Yue hesitated for a moment before nodding, “Sorry for troubling you.”
“It’s no trouble. I take Rhubarb and Furball for a walk every day.”
Meng Ting pointed at the cat and dog in his arms and at his feet, respectively. Rhubarb was still vigilant towards Yan Yu for a while, but he didn’t react to He Yue. On the other hand, Furball remained the same as it couldn’t see anyone else other than Meng Ting when he’s present.
Meng Ting let go of Furball and got up to push He Yue. Furball followed them and kept meowing at Meng Ting’s feet. He Yue looked at Meng Ting and asked, “Can I hold it?”
Meng Ting nodded. He leaned over and picked up Furball, then put it on He Yue’s thigh. He then slowly pushed He Yue out while the lazy Rhubarb followed them.
Yan Sui and Yan Yu, who were sitting on the sofa by the window on the second floor, turned their heads almost simultaneously.
Yan Sui looked at Meng Ting while Yan Yu looked at He Yue. The two who had a cold expression on their face instantly softened.
Yan Yu looked at Yan Sui again, “Let’s just do as you said.”
Yan Sui nodded, got up, and packed his briefcase. He then left the study, got in the car, and went to the company.
The Yan company had a press conference at ten o’clock in the morning, inviting famous news media and live broadcasting it on the Internet.
“Today, I’m mainly telling two things to all the media and netizens on the Internet. One is that Yan Sui from the Yan family no longer has a mother-son relationship with He Wan. The second thing is that my wife Meng Ting had broken all ties with the Meng family.”
From the moment Yan Sui walked into this small auditorium to the moment he sat down and uttered these few words took less than three minutes. Yet, it was enough to shock the crowd and the netizens on the Internet. There’s a kind of person whose aura was that powerful. The media representatives were about to cause a ruckus turned all quiet again under Yan Sui’s slightly frowning gaze.
Yan Sui’s eyes lowered, and a legal agreement appeared on the big screen behind him, “This is the agreement He Wan made before she married into the Yan family. If one condition is violated, it is equivalent to her voluntarily giving up all the relationships related to the Yan family. This relationship naturally includes our mother-son relationship.”
The content of the agreement was straightforward. He Wan must not transfer Yan’s stock to anyone other than Yan Sui. She must not openly publicize her relationship with Yan Yu and Yan Sui, and she must not coerce Yan Sui into anything by any means.
Except for the last one, which happened to be botched by her and suddenly turned into part of Yan Sui’s plan, He Wan was guilty of all the others.
This agreement was drafted by Yan Sui’s grandmother Xu Shuyin, witnessed by a lawyer and the elders of the Yan family and signed by He Wan personally. The seal was notarized by the notarial office. This proved that the agreement was definitely not fake.
He Wan must be frightened. After the death of the two elders in the Yan family, she had torn up an agreement precisely the same as this one. If Yan Sui’s agreement was real, which meant that the one she once tore was fake.
What made her furious and fear was that before Yan Sui took out this agreement, he didn’t reveal any signs that he knew about it. He waited for her to violate the agreement and then completely kicked her out of the Yan family.
Yan Sui never thought of her as a mother at all, never once, and never ever planning to change his mind forever. Yan Sui was so cold and sensible that it absolutely exceeded many people’s expectations.
Yan Sui waited for the media representatives at the bottom to finish reading before the screen changed again to a paternity test certificate, “Meng Ting and Meng Yide of the Meng family, as well as Meng Yide’s former lover Yu Meixuan, do not have any biological relationship. He was abducted and sold to this illegal orphanage at a young age.”
Then there were several documents from the hospital in Meng Ting’s childhood and other relevant documents, “Yu Meixuan’s mother Wu Fengjiao is involved in child abuse, XX orphanage involved in abduction and trafficking of children, XX closed high school involved in the abuse of psychotropic drugs and excessive physical punishment of students. All the relevant pieces of evidence will be sent to the judiciary, and we are filing lawsuits and public prosecutions against the involved parties.”
“Li Yifei of the Meng family forged a paternity test, instigated Wu Fengjiao to abuse a child, and was suspected of deliberately injuring a child. The Yan family will prosecute her in the name of Meng Ting.”
“And…” Yan Sui suddenly paused, and the media representatives couldn’t help but stare at him with their eyes widened. What bombs did he still have to drop on us?
“I fell in love with Meng Ting, married him, and planned to stay together with him for a lifetime has nothing to do with whether he is an illegitimate son or the son of a noble family. After this, if there are any malicious slanders towards him, the Yan’s will sue those for libel.”
