Ling Shan Jun - 3.2

Qing Shi Jiu did not dare to look at Phoenix as much and he scuttled past by following Ling Shan Jun’s voice.

Ling Shan Jun was at the back of the house, so Qing Shi Jiu looked for an angle where Phoenix could not see and stopped. He lifted his hand to pat his chest and exhaled quietly.

Phoenix’s eyes were very sharp, which gave Qing Shi Jiu the misconception of being seen right through to his skin. He was not sure if the Disguising Appearance Pill could hoodwink Phoenix.

As if he could sensed Qing Shi Jiu’s abnormal behavior, Ling Shan Jun came over: “Never met Phoenix before?”

Qing Shi Jiu shook his head, thought of something, and quickly replied: “Not yet.”

Ling Shan Jun’s movements were natural, as he squeezed his hand: “He only came to eat dinner, don’t be afraid.”

As expected, there were three guests that came. Aside from Phoenix, the other two people were dressed in simple but immaculate clothes, one was  named “Xiao Bai” and the other was named “Xiao Wu.”

Qing Shi Jiu and Ling Shan Jun sat together on one side and the other three guests occupied each side of the table, drinking wine and eating food.

Phoenix said very little, while Xiao Bai and Xiao Wu talked, ate, and drank constantly. They talked to the point of excitement and even reached out to slap Phoenix’s shoulder, laughing and swaying to and fro. Phoenix was slapped in such a way that the food on his chopsticks scattered everywhere and more than half of his complexion darkened. At the side, Qing Shi was frightfully alarmed and could only eat the food in his bowl quietly.

Xiao Bai suddenly brought a cup of wine before Qing Shi Jiu’s face: “A Ling, why aren’t you drinking wine?”

Ling Shan Jun blocked it and seized the opportunity to pick up food for Qing Shi Jiu: “His drinking capacity is not good, you drink it yourself.”

Xiao Bai shyly drew back his hand: “Okay.”

Next to him, Xiao Wu said: “Ling Shan Jun has a wife now, so he is quite different.”

Xiao Bai joined in: “It is different.”

Qing Shi Jiu shyly buried his head to eat food and the tips of his ears became very red. Next to him, he heard Ling Shan Jun said: “Eating without talking. You guys should learn from Phoenix.”

“Learn from him, what for? Even for half a day, he does not say anything, so boring.”

“So boring.”

It was a meal that even the hosts and guests appeared to be having fun.

After the meal, Ling Shan Jun asked the clay baby dolls to bring over the small happy boxes and distributed it to the three distinguished guests. Once again, Xiao Bai and Xiao Wu had begun to tease him making “ai ya, ai ya” sounds.

Ling Shan Jun bluntly chased the guests out: “You guys should go back.”

Phoenix stood up: “Ling Shan, see me off.”

Ling Shan Jun kneaded Qing Shi Jiu’s shoulder: “Take a bath first.”

Qing Shi Jiu: “…”

Xiao Bai and Xiao Wu winked at each other and immediately followed afterwards. While Qing Shi Jiu rubbed his scalding face and got up to return to his room.

The clay children bouncingly and vivaciously followed him: “Draw water for Madam to take a bath.”

“…”

One after another, the four people walked out of Ling Shan Residence’s main entrance. Phoenix clasped his hands behind his back, used his peripheral vision to glimpse at Qing Shi Jiu’s receding silhouette, and finally said: “Are you really blind?”

Ling Shan Jun was calm: “What?”

Xiao Bai answered: “Are you really blind or are you pretending to be stupid? Even if the heavenly eye is closed, there’s no way that you can’t see through it.”

Phoenix said: “The Peacock Lord proactively offered you a marriage proposal. This certainly was not his idea. Maybe Kong Ling heard rumors about you from out there. He was unwilling to marry you and found a blue sparrow to replace himself.”

Ling Shan Jun revealed a smile: “A blue sparrow is more pleasing than a peacock, no?”

Phoenix shot a glance at him and left without saying a word.

“Alright.” Xiao Wu patted Ling Shan Jun’s shoulder, “I’m waiting for your good news.”

Qing Shi Jiu struggled while taking a bath. Then he hesitated for a moment between the couch and the bed, and he thought to himself, unfamiliar at first, but well accustomed soon enough. He gnashed his teeth and rolled towards the inside of the bed.

When the door was pushed open, he hurriedly closed his eyes and pretended to sleep.
