The Film Emperor Has Brain Damage - Chapter 9
The next day, Song Ning found his way to Liang Rong’s house according to the address given.
It was a luxury villa area far from the city centre. Song Ning was questioned by the security guard for a long time when he was entering the gates.
He patiently explained over and over again, “I’m Mr. Liang’s psychiatrist.”
The security guard was probably a fan of Liang Rong, refusing to believe that Liang Rong had psychological problems and needed to see a doctor. So, he pointed at him and said, “You! Are you here to chase after your idol!”
As they were getting nowhere, the security guard called Liang Rong and had him come in person to confirm it.
After a while, Liang Rong came down in a basketball singlet, dragging his feet in slippers. He frowned when he saw Song Ning, “Who are you?”
Song Ning thought to himself, “This is bad. I won’t be getting in today.”
Noticing that the security guard was about to kick him out, Song Ning lit up with a bright idea, “Your mother asked me to visit. We met just yesterday at noon.”
Hearing that, Liang Roon recalled for a few seconds, then told the security guard, “Let him in. He might be someone my mom called over to do the cleaning.”
Song Ning: “……”
Song Ning followed behind Liang Rong and entered the house.
Liang Rong’s villa was decorated with style and anyone could clearly tell it was the work of a top designer.
Song Ning secretly admired it on his own before explaining to him, “Mr. Liang, I’m not a housekeeper. I’m a doctor.”
The other party didn’t seem like he heard him as he walked straight to the refrigerator to get a can of Coke. He downed half of it in one go before throwing it in the trash can. “Kay, go wash the dishes in the kitchen.”
Song Ning, “……”
He glanced at the medical kit he brought with him and felt a little tempted to feed some sleeping pills directly to Liang Rong.
But Song Ning held it in. He thought about the deposit that Liang Rong had paid. Once he receives the commission from the clinic at the end of the month, he would be able to afford a Maserati.
While imagining which colour he will be getting, he washed all the dishes in the kitchen sink.
When he was done, he walked out of the kitchen and found Liang Rong lying on the couch with his eyes closed and headphones on.
Song Ning walked over and peeked at his phone screen, realizing it was a very old love song.
“You like this song?”
“So-so. My mom likes it.” Liang Rong opened his eyes and asked, “Where’s my mom?”
“She went on a business trip and asked me to keep you company.” Song Ning simply made up a reason.
Liang Rong hummed in response. “I don’t need company.”
Song Ning wasn’t sure if the real film emperor acted in this way when he was sixteen, but he was certain that he himself wasn’t like this at this age.
He sat down patiently, chatting casually with Liang Rong.
In order to have a better grasp on the complexity of Liang Rong’s condition, Song Ning needed an all-rounded understanding of him. For example, if this personality had a clear perception and awareness of his own existence and whether or not he would have doubts about himself.
Song Ning spread his notebook out on his lap and tested the waters by asking the first question, “You’re only 16, so why are always at home every day? Don’t you need to go to school?”
Liang Rong placed both hands behind his head and said without thinking, “My grades are too horrible, no school wants me.”
Song Ning immediately recorded the first characteristic he got from that on his book: ‘Doesn’t seem that smart.’
He then continued asking, “Have you ever wondered why you look a lot more mature than your peers?”
Liang Rong raised his eyebrow, “Are you saying I’m handsome? That’s not something I can control.”
After saying that, he quietly observed Song Ning for a few moments and pretended to say it casually, “You’re also quite handsome.”
Song Ning’s pen hovering on top of the paper halted a little. He lifted his head up and flashed him a bright smile. Then, he jotted down another point on the notebook: ‘Has objective evaluations’.
Although Liang Rong confidently said he didn’t need company, the truth was that he was really excited when someone talked to him. It took only an afternoon’s time for him to spill almost everything about himself.
Song Ning rarely came across a patient who cooperated this well. He gained a lot of information, which he intended to study thoroughly later on.
He gathered his belongings and stood up – seeing that Liang Rong had no intention of getting up to send him off, he walked himself to the door and changed his shoes.
When Liang Rong heard the noises of him opening the door and walking out, he suddenly poked his head out of the living room and asked, “Are you coming again tomorrow?”
Song Ning asked him back, “Do you want me to visit again?”
Liang Rong took out a set of keys from the drawer and threw it at him, “Open the door yourself if you come again. I wouldn’t want to go out to pick you up again.”
Song Ning smiled and said okay.
Song Ning went over for a week in a row. He found out that Liang Rong’s situation was a lot more complicated than he thought. This 16-year-old personality of his had a really sound mentality. Plus, he was really convinced and had no doubts about his own existence.
This made it more difficult to deal with. Just relying on subtle hinting as therapy might not be effective enough. Song Ning was prepared to prescribe him some medicine.
Later on, Liang Rong exploded the second he saw the medicines on the table. “I’m not sick! Why do I need to take these!”
Song Ning had expected this, so he said, “I’m the health consultant that your mother hired for you. These medicines will help strengthen your physique.”
Liang Rong didn’t believe him, “My physical condition has always been well.”
Song Ning came up with a plan, took him to the clinic to do a full body check-up. The results showed a few indicators that were a little high. Additionally, he had gastritis and mild fatty liver.
Liang Rong got quite a shock from that. “I’m so young yet I have so many health issues.”
Song Ning replied, “That’s why it’s necessary to take medicines to regulate your health.”
Liang Rong then believed him without saying another word. He took the initiative to buy a lot of fitness equipment online later on too.
