Your Kingdom - Arc 3 Chapter 4
Perhaps it was because of the morning sun. Licht felt a dazzle from the back of his eyelids and he lifted his eyelids lightly; he saw Fernand’s sleeping face in front of his eyes.
Licht thought he would never get tired staring at his very beautiful face, with his smoldering eyelashes over his high nose bridge and finely shaped lips.
“Mm, Prince, are you awake?”
Licht’s gaze was entangled with Fernand’s carelessly opened blue eyes, and his cheeks were gently caressed. Fernand pulled Licht’s jaw closer without a pause, and the lips Licht was watching until just now were overlapping his.
The lips that just left with light smacking sound began to trail on his nape now. His large hands slid under Licht’s coat, and brushed against the kiss marks on his chest, that was completely ravished last night. Even only with such kind of stimulation, his body gave a sensitive response.
“Nn…Fer…It’s morning already…”
“Yes, so what?”
Fernand rolled up Licht’s shirt and began to trace last night’s remains with his tongue. Licht, thinking that he might not be able to move out from the bed again, hurriedly pushed Fernand’s head aside.
“No…because I won’t be able to get up…!”
Fernand finally raised his face. He brushed up his slightly disheveled hair and looked down at discontented Licht.
“Since I haven’t seen you in a long time, there is no problem if we take it slow until noon for today, right?”
“But they will wither if I don’t take care of them every morning.”
When Licht raised his upper body as he slipped through Fernand’s arms, he smiled bashfully.
“I’m looking after flower bed. Milly also said you certainly will allow it. The flowers will bloom soon!”
“Looking after flower beds, huh…”
“Now, they are all green and very pretty! If you pat them, they are a bit cold and soft, it feels really good…I also want to show them to you.”
Fernand laughed understandingly at Licht who spoke with all his might, then he got up slowly.
“Then would you please take me to your prized flower bed?”
He was sure that Fernand was worn out after doing their things last night…Licht wanted to show the flower bed that cheered him up every morning to Fernand; certainly he would cheer up even a bit. Perhaps even the injury on his shoulders would get better.
The two of them walked along the small path in the garden where morning dew still remained. The impromptu little gardener walked in front, his steps were uncertain, no doubt due to their love affair last night. However Fernand was rather brimming with energy.
Last night, Fernand made a mess out of Licht a bit, no, a good deal actually.
Licht was not in the least aware of Fernand’s outrageous conduct towards him last night, and although he really had a hard time walking, he firmly refused to be carried. He seemed to want to show him around by himself.
“Look here, the one surrounded by these stones is the flower bed I’m looking after.”
The flower bed was far from a bush of roses. It was surrounded by reddish-brown bricks and was very small, smaller than the one-man tea table placed in Licht’s room.
The flower bed was full of not yet flowering plants, they lined up over the softly plowed soil with a great deal of green leaves. They are from breeds suitable to be nurtured by children and gardening beginners.
“We can’t tell the color of the flowers until they bloom.”
“Since there are many different kinds of colors for this flower, right.”
“Eh, Fernand knows about this flower.”
“Yes, I remember growing them when I was a child.”
“What color were your flowers?”
Fernand didn’t remember the color of the flowers…precisely, he ‘didn’t see’ the color rather than ‘didn’t remember’. To be honest, he grew them under the guidance of the botanist who worked in Royal Palace as a part of his primary education, but he had no interest in gardening at all, so the abandoned them midway. Other than that, because he was devoted to military training, and he had forgotten about them as an old memory.
“It was red, I think…”
“Is that so. I wonder what color my flowers are. If they are red, then we have the same color.”
Licht’s gaze was full of fondness as he crouched with his chin propped on his hand, staring at the flower bed; and Fernand was filled with a strange feeling that squeezed his chest.
As he stood still and stared at Licht’s side profile for a moment, suddenly someone pushed aside the rose thicket and made a sound.
“…Yo, you’re early.”
Clement the gardener showed up, carrying a spade on his shoulder. Clement bowed lightly towards Fernand, then he looked down at the flower bed as he leaned on the spade he dropped off to the ground.
“Have you finished watering them?”
“Not yet, I’m going to do it now…hey, is this grass weed as well? Should I pull it?”
Licht put his bare hands together like a scoop to carefully push aside the soil, scooped the weeds thoroughly and carefully put them outside the flower bed.
“Clement, lend me your weed basket.”
“I’ll put them together and clean up later.”
“No way. You always leave them carelessly.”
“Even if you neglect those weeds, they will lay their roots with their own strength.”
“Liar. You said that before, but when I saw them the next day, they are all withered…although I covered them with soil, they didn’t get better.”
Clement roughly and helplessly brushed up his hair. He met Fernand’s eyes and raised a single eyebrow.
“Please don’t glower at me like that. Since the condition is like this, I’m also having a hard time, you know?”
“I’m not glowering.”
“Well, there’s nothing for you to be worried at all. Particularly, it’s not like we have become ‘good friends’”
Fernand truly glared at Clement’s grinning face this time. And then, he vaguely realized that this feeling is what you call as jealousy.
